Community collaboration is thriving at a local art studio in George Town.  Art Nest creator Christina Pineda envisioned a creative community space with active participation from members of the creative industries when she created the studio in late 2016...

Art Nest Creative Studio, in collaboration with Conscious Cafe, is launching a new event which offers a creative spin on Sunday brunch. The event, Brunch and Brushes, starts on 28th October 2018 at 11:30am to 2:00pm. Each Brunch and Brushes event will be themed and guests will have the option of dressing in the themed costume.

The Art Nest, Cayman’s newest creative community studio located in Pasadora Place, invited each guest to add their paint strokes to a community canvas. At the end of the evening, the blank canvas turned into a beautiful Cayman Islands landscape.

While Ms. Diaz meets with clients one-on-one at the Wellness Centre, a blossoming partnership with Art Nest has allowed her to expand into group work, including an ongoing class for young girls called “Art of Confidence.”

She said art therapy programs can often help clients process experiences and emotions that may be too complex or difficult to put into words.

Art Nest is an ambitious new venture which aims to develop and stimulate Cayman creativity. Situated in Pasadora Place on Smith Road, the venue will soon expand to offer 3,000 square feet of artists’ studio spaces, teaching and co-working space, as well as event and meeting space and an arts reference library.
